About the Role:A leading Canadian organization within the financial services sector is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Close & Technical Accounting to join its corporate accounting leadership team. This role offers high visibility, technical depth, and people leadership, acting as a key advisor to senior finance leadership on complex accounting matters and close execution.Reporting into a senior finance leader, this position plays a critical role in supporting the financial close, providing technical accounting guidance, and strengthening team capability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.What Youll Do:Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, judgments, and accounting interpretationsReview and assess contracts and agreements to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and compliance with standardsLead and mentor a small team of experienced accounting professionals, supporting development and decision-making during close cyclesOversee key aspects of the monthly and quarterly financial close, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistencyPartner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and support financial reporting requirementsSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to close processes, controls, and team structureAct as a trusted advisor to management, exercising judgment and autonomy on complex accounting mattersWhat You Bring:CPA designation5+ years of progressive experience in audit and/or corporate accounting, with strong exposure to technical accountingDemonstrated experience providing accounting guidance on complex or judgment-based issuesPrior people leadership experience, including coaching and developing direct reportsStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across finance and non-finance teamsComfortable operating in a lean environment with a high degree of ownership and independenceWhy Join:This is an opportunity to step into a visible leadership role within a dynamic, transformation-oriented organization.
