Company description Evergreen Veterinary Dentistry Services is seeking a registered veterinary technician (RVT) as we are expanding and adding another doctor. We are a privately owned, referral facility in greater Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island. We only provide veterinary dentistry and oral surgery services with a board certified veterinary dentist. We are looking for an outstanding technician with an excellent skill set in anesthesia, patient management and client communication. We work closely with a board certified critical care specialist that can attend on site as needed for additional anesthesia management. Dentistry experience is required as technicians are responsible for dental scale and polish, taking dental radiographs and processing them as required. We have a ventilator, cone beam CT scanner and high end monitoring equipment. Our facility provides comprehensive oral health and treatment (COHAT) services to include uncomplicated to advanced dentistry and oral surgery care services to include: annual care; periodontics and guided tissue regeneration; complicated extractions; root canal therapy; occlusion assessment/management; orthodontics; crown therapy; restorative dentistry; pediatric dentistry; inflammatory oral condition treatment; and oral surgery services to include jaw fracture repair, oronasal fistula repair, tumor diagnosis and management, mandibulectomy and maxillectomy procedures, cleft palate repairs. We will be covering provincial RVT dues, CE, uniform allowance, paid holiday, benefits, along with access to veterinary food, supplies and veterinary services at reduced cost. We are a more relaxed pace of practice as we have limited numbers of clients and patients we can see in a day, as a referral based practice. Relocation to Victoria, BC required. A Moving stipend will be provided to appropriate candidate. A hiring bonus to appropriate candidate upon 1 year of retention. Job description Computer skills and experience with EzyVet Veterinary Software and Microsoft Office would be an asset. However, all medical record system, anesthesia and dental charting system are easily taught. We will be a paper light practice using cloud based software programs. Periodic overtime will be required depending on what types of cases are on for the day. We can usually plan well for this, but some cases have unforeseen surprises in the oral cavity or there is a jaw fracture repair that needs to be added on to the day. Technical Able to perform all technical responsibilities of a Veterinary Technician Provide input towards the purchase of pharmaceutical supplies and drugs. Participate in the maintenance of controlled substance, radiology and surgery logs Ensure all equipment is maintained as per guidelines. Knowledge of the procedures used for receiving, treating, and scheduling patients; for ordering medical supplies; and requesting laboratory tests. Knowledge of the use, care and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment. Knowledge of sterilization techniques to sterilize various instruments and materials. Schedule: 4 days a week - approximately 10 hour shifts during daytime hours only Periodic overtime will be required no holidays, no weekends, no emergency on call Salary is competitive and commensurate with skills and experience.
